The Till Eulenspiegel Museum in Schöppenstedt is dedicated entirely to the world-famous and much-loved character Till Eulenspiegel, who is said to have been born in the small village of Kneitlingen. For hundreds of years, it has inspired artists and writers to reimagine and reinterpret it. In the new permanent exhibition, which opened in 2017, you can experience the stories of Till Eulenspiegel in an entertaining and informative way. And get to know sides of Till that are almost forgotten today. The museum presents the harmless and funny prankster as well as political Till or the evil Eulenspiegel, who contemporaries said was in league with the devil. The museum is barrier-free, inclusive and an experience for everyone from 3 to 103!
Till Eulenspiegel Museum Nordstraße 4a 38170 Schöppenstedt
Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday 2-5pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm
The municipality of Cremlingen is located in the north of Germany's largest geopark - between the cities of Braunschweig and Wolfsburg - and the "Jurassic Sea Schandelah" geopoint is an exciting place for young and old archaeologists to discover. The open spaces of the "Herzogsberge" and "Wohld" nature reserves and the Elm, which is just a stone's throw away, invite you to take long walks and cycle tours. There is also plenty to experience in the ten villages in the municipality: in Abbenrode, for example, you can visit the mill ensemble with adjoining café and in Destedt the estate park, the first English landscape garden in Germany.
