The TorfHaus National Park Visitor Centre is one of the central points of contact for visitors to the Oberharz. It is located in the heart of the national park in the district of Torfhaus, with the best view of the Brocken. The National Park Visitor Centre also functions as a Geopark Information Centre. The interactive exhibition includes a Geopark module with numerous rocks typical of the Harz and a vivid presentation of the rock cycle. In the cinema, you can climb the Brocken together with the historical Harz travellers Goethe and Heine.

In addition to the exhibition, the TorfHaus offers numerous excursions for individual visitors or for registered groups. Geological excursions are also on offer. You can find the events here.

The TorfHaus National Park Visitor Centre opened in 2009 and is run by BUND-Landesverband Niedersachsen e. V. in a joint venture with the Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Nationalparks Harz e.V. and the mountain and university town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld.
