On the trail of the robber Rose - hike on International Cave Day

On Saturday, 7 June 2025, the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park, together with the AGTour and the Geopark Harz - Braunschweiger Land - Ostfalen, invites you to a special event to mark International Cave Day. The hike to the Räuber Rose cave promises excitement, historical insights and socialising.

The guided tour starts at 13:00 at the Orangerie Marienborn. From there, the route follows nature trails and part of the Archaeological-Historical Circular Trail to the legendary Robber Rose Cave. There, participants can expect to meet the gendarme Haberland, who has exciting stories to tell about the notorious robber Rose - a journey into the past that will captivate young and old alike.

After around 1.5 to 2 hours, participants will return to the Orangery Marienborn, where the cosy café will be open for a refreshment of coffee and cake. In addition, a small flea market around the orangery provides further enjoyable experiences.

Special thanks go to the band of robbers from the AGTour, who took on the preparation and organisation with a great deal of passion and commitment. Their tireless efforts make this event and the Räuber Rose hiking trail a special experience.

The event was deliberately scheduled for 7 June 2025 to enable working people and families to take part. The "International Cave Day" falls on 6 June 2025 and offers numerous activities around the topic of cave exploration and protection worldwide.

The Participation in the hike is free of charge. Pre-registration is requested by email to:
