Karst hiking trail

The South Harz Nature Park is home to the centre of the South Harz gypsum karst landscape, in addition to the densely wooded foothills of the Harz. This is exactly where the Karst hiking trail of the same name takes you through a refreshingly green and at the same time surprisingly varied natural area with water-filled earth falls, gypsum humplands, caves and springs.

In 2011, the hiking trail, with its many charms, even a quality trail, was awarded by the German Hiking Association. In order to be able to carry this predicate, many criteria must be met, which give the hiking experience on this way a special appeal. In addition to the beauty and variety of the landscape, it is the narrow paths that make the heart of every hiker beat faster.

The trail in its entire length (233 km) extends from Osterode in Lower Saxony to Pölsfeld in Saxony-Anhalt. In the South Harz Nature Park, it winds its way through the impressive landscape over a length of almost 54 km.
