Königslutter (FEMO)

A renovated baroque half-timbered building offers optimal conditions for the work and actions of the central information centre in the Geopark Braunschweiger Land. We want to give our young and older visitors an understanding of the origins of today’s landscapes and a sensitivity to nature. We can show connections between geological conditions and animated nature in a rousing and comprehensible way.

Numerous charming rocks, fossils and other exhibits make the natural, landscape and earth history of the Brunswick Land tangible and comprehensible. In the well-equipped field of action, interested parties and school classes can examine geological issues. Two rooms for practical work and an extensive collection of rocks and fossils invite you to join in. We offer an extensive tourism and information service for the Geopark Braunschweiger Land as well as for the Nature Park Elm-Lappwald and the city of Königslutter.

Closed on Mondays

Admission free. Guided tours for groups by appointment (also possible outside opening hours).
The museum is accessible by public transport. From the train station, the walk takes about 10 minutes.
