Lübben stones

Discover the remains of two large stone tombs built from lignite quartzite at St. Annenberg. The visit to the Lübben stones is an impressive journey into the era of prehistoric man. Today, the Lübben stones are the only large stone tombs preserved at the original location in the Helmstedt region. Through excavations, historical sources and land names, it is known that between Groß Steinum and Helmstedt, a large number of such monuments once clearly shaped the landscape.

How to get there: The Lübbensteine can be reached directly from the B1, about 300m before the western edge of Helmstedt.
