Quarry "Am Markmorgen"

A shell limestone quarry with the possibility to search for and find fossils (ammonites, mussels, lily stalk members, etc.). In addition, information on the geology and forest development of the site is provided on various display boards. The quarry is part of several nature and cultural adventure trails that are connected to each other via a signposted path system and can be discovered from different starting points.

The quarry is located on the edge of a fruit growing area. Here there is the possibility to buy fruit directly from the producer all year round.

How to get there: From Braunschweig in an easterly direction on the A 39 to exit Sickte. To the south on the L 625, Schöppenstedter Straße, to Evessen. Follow the signs.
