In the course of the Rieseberg Geopath, you will walk along a length of approx. 4.6 km through different and diverse zones from the early history of vegetation and forest management. You are located here in the middle of the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park.
Coming from the Lutterheide, your path leads through old oak and beech forests within the eastern edge of the forest. You will learn which people lived here at the end of the last ice age, recognize relics of old forest management and much geologically interesting things.
The beginning and end of this geopath is the hiking car park at the sports field Rieseberg, the duration is about 2.5 hours. A bus stop is located in Rieseberg about 600 m from the starting point. The route has no special terrain difficulties – but it is not suitable for prams.
How to get there: The Rieseberg can be reached via the A2 junction Königslutter. After the exit towards Ochsendorf and continue the signs for Rieseberg. Travel time from AS Königslutter is only a few minutes.
