Vortrag am 6. Mai: Neues aus dem Posidonienschiefer – Was isolierte Zähne berichten

Geologist Dag Ruge presents a detailed description and pictorial representation of 13 tooth morphotypes, based on isolated marine reptile teeth from the Posidonia Shale Formation (PSF; Lower Toarcian) of Schandelah, Lower Saxony. Comparisons with teeth from selected skeletons in the collections of the State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart and the State Museum of Natural History Braunschweig allow for statements concerning the systematic affiliation of the isolated teeth. Furthermore, the analysis of the teeth permits inferences on the ecosystem of the PSF of Schandelah.
The lecture will take place at 4:30 PM in the Marstall, Niedernhof 6, in Königslutter am Elm. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to take part in a short guided tour on this topic at the Geopark Information Centre.
The talk and tour last approximately 90 minutes. The event is free of charge, donations are welcome.
