Ausstellung in der Stadtbücherei Königslutter: „Keine Torte ohne Boden“

From 28 May to 7 July 2025, the Königslutter public library is showing the exhibition "No cake without a base". What does soil actually do? The exhibition sheds light on its often underestimated functions: It secures our food supply, stores CO₂, filters water, regulates the climate - and is a habitat for countless organisms. Visitors can also find out which soils there are in the district of Helmstedt and what influence humans have on them.
The idea for the exhibition came about as part of the "Expedition Erdreich" citizen science campaign, in which citizens were able to measure soil activity with tea bags - an experiment that made science hands-on.
The exhibition is organised by the Schöningen Research Museum, BUND, Helmstedt District Archaeology and the Harz Geopark. Braunschweig region . Eastphalia.
The library is open Monday and Tuesday from 3.00 - 6.00 pm and Thursday from 10.00 - 6.00 pm. Admission is free.
